Bone fragment from the skull of David Steele, 1781.

The bone fragment was sabered from Steele's head by a British soldier at the battle of Guilford Courthouse, March 15, 1781. Steele wore a silver plate in its place. With the fragment is an abbreviated genealogy tracking the inheritance of the fragment from Steele down to the donor.
